This game is a continuation of the game Crysis that was released in 2007. This game will be the first game engine development using CryEngine 3. PC Gamer magazine has published a preview of Crysis 2, which depicts a park and city streets that were destroyed by aliens in the city center equipment. A picture published by the official PlayStation magazine illustrates that this game uses New York City as its setting.

In this game players get the freedom to choose his weapons and modifications. Urban environment of this game offers more choice to the player in planning the attack. The game player can do new things like leaping from floor to floor and from building to building. There are many things that can be destroyed, jump, and used in this Crysis 2 game.
